About us
What does Match Point Advisory do?
We run operations and marketing for founder-led businesses. We find where your business is leaking money, whether that's pricing, cold leads, hiring or processes that only work when you're in the room, and fix what matters first.
Who do you work with?
Founder-led B2B and service businesses from pre-revenue to about $40M in revenue, including professional services, staffing, commercial cleaning, and trades and field services.
Most clients are owners who have outgrown doing everything themselves but aren't ready for a full-time operations or marketing hire yet.
What kinds of problems do you fix?
The most common ones we see:
- Jobs or contracts priced below what they cost to deliver
- Leads that go cold before anyone follows up
- Marketing that stopped working years ago
- No clear numbers to run the business on
- Processes that live in the owner's head
We document how the business runs, set up the reporting you need, and fix the leaks with the biggest payoff first.
What makes Match Point Advisory different from other consultants?
Founder Neela Thambirajah spent six years in M&A tax at KPMG and a boutique advisory firm, served as Chief of Staff at an investment bank, and is a licensed attorney (LL.B, Durham; LL.M in Taxation, LSE).
We take initiative and accountability like an owner would. Founders know best when it comes to their operations and marketing, but they often lack the time to execute. We do the work to get it done rather than handing you a report.
Do I need to be organized before I bring you in?
No. Getting you organized is the job. A recent P&L or pipeline report helps, but it isn't required to get started.
How is this different from hiring a full-time operations manager or fractional COO?
You get senior operations and marketing experience for the hours you actually need, without a full-time salary, benefits or a long hiring process.
You can start with a fixed-scope project, move to a monthly retainer if it's working, and scale up or down as the business changes.
Do you only work with businesses in Toronto?
No. We work with businesses across Canada and the United States and can travel to you, but most work is done remotely.
Services & pricing
What services do you offer?
- Operations Snapshot ($750 USD). One founder interview, a look at your data, and your five highest-value fixes, in about a week.
- Operations Diagnostic ($1,950 USD). A two-week review of where your business leaks margin, with a KPI scorecard and a 90-day plan.
- Fractional Operations or Marketing Lead (from $3,000 USD a month). A monthly retainer to run operations or marketing alongside you.
What does an Operations Diagnostic include?
Over two weeks we interview you and key people on your team, review your financials, pricing, pipeline and processes, and identify where the business is losing money or time.
You receive a KPI scorecard, a ranked list of fixes with their expected impact, and a 90-day plan you can run with or without us.
How much does it cost?
- Operations Snapshot: $750 USD, fixed price
- Operations Diagnostic: $1,950 USD, fixed price
- Fractional Operations or Marketing Lead: from $3,000 USD a month, depending on scope
All prices are in US dollars. For retainers, we'll confirm scope and price after the free 20-minute call.
Can you help with marketing as well as operations?
Yes. We handle B2B marketing and growth: positioning and messaging, outbound systems on LinkedIn and email, CRM setup and pipeline reporting, and credibility marketing like case studies and award submissions.
Operations and marketing are often the same problem, so we look at both.
How quickly will I see results?
An Operations Snapshot gives you your five highest-value fixes within about a week, and many can be acted on right away. Bigger changes like pricing, reporting and sales systems usually show results within the first 90 days.
Getting started
What happens on the free 20-minute call?
It's a short Microsoft Teams call to understand your business and what's stuck. Tell us where you think you're losing money or time, and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help and what a sensible first step would be. No preparation needed.
What if you're not the right fit for my business?
We'll tell you on the call. If the right next step is a different kind of specialist, or nothing at all, we'll say so and point you in a useful direction where we can.
Is my business information kept confidential?
Yes. Everything you share is kept confidential, and we're happy to sign your NDA before you share financials or client data.
How do I get started?
